Mission work

On March 7th, the new Spirit of Joy Congregation Council met to set their vision for 2020.  The consensus of the group was that this year we should focus on local community missions.  Little did they know that in just a few days, the need for that vision would become critical.

Your Missions Committee oversees several local community projects and we could use your help during these difficult times.  If you are interested in helping with any of the projects listed below, please send Pastor Conda an email. In addition, if your small group has ideas of how you could reach out to help our neighbors, we have funds available to help your group cover your costs.

  • Common Heart – looking for volunteers to deliver food to neighbors in Union County
  • Blood Drive – severe shortage!  Looking for eligible and healthy donors.  Make an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org
  • Sewing masks and hospital gowns – our Days for Girls team is expanding to help produce medical supplies.  If you can sew and would like to help, contact Vickie Cecil or me
  • Community Culinary School of Charlotte – offering takeout meals for sale to the public – place your order at 704-375-4500 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

  • Turning Point – looking for donations to help battered women and their children
